Crispy Air Fryer Pork Belly (Siu Yuk) 🥢

If I had to pick one dish for life, Cantonese crispy pork belly would be 1000% be it! 🤤🥢 So here’s how you make can make it at home, in under an hour in the air fryer. Crispy skin, juicy inside—no fuss, all flavour. 🍖✨

Ingredients
  • 500g Pork Belly

  • 1 tbsp oil

  • 1 tbsp salt


Seasoning Paste

  • 2 tbsp vinegar 

  • 1 tsp 5-spice 

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 1/2 tsp white pepper


Method
  1. Dry the pork belly with kitchen roll.

  2. Make half inch cuts in pork belly across the meat side.

  3. Flip to the skin side and poke small holes across the skin.

  4. Combine all the ingredients until it forms a paste.

  5. Spread the seasoning paste across the meat side making sure not to touch the skin.

  6. Place the pork belly in a tin foil tray.

  7. Brush the skin with vinegar and season generously with salt.

  8. Air fry at 120C for 25 mins, dust off layer of salt and brush the skin with oil.

  9. Air fry again at 200C this time, for another 30-35 mins until the skin is golden and crispy.
